Welcome to the Halls Head College School Library. The library is an integral part of the School. Our World is becoming increasingly networked and connected and we are more reliant on current and emerging technology. Here we aim to help students navigate through the diverse array of information and tools and to develop their capacity to locate, evaluate and apply information.
The library is open from 8.00am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Before school, recess and lunchtime allows students to pursue individual activities like chess, cards, jigsaws, reading and provides a safe haven from the busy schoolyard.
In the Library the students will have access to 8,000 fiction and non-fiction books, magazines, Cd’s and DVDs. Our comprehensive professional library area has been established and is an important asset to the ongoing growth of all our students.
The Library will help students with research, reading, study skills and the use of technology. Teachers are available to assist students with electronic and print-based information gathering for assignments, pleasure reading and IT use.
On most days you will find the students making the most of the Library before school, at recess and lunch time. We encourage our students to enjoy the Library facilities as this gives them a wonderful world of knowledge right at their fingertips.
