Lifeskills
Cooking and Budgeting – Students learn practical life skills. Students budget for, prepare and cook simple healthy foods.
Kitchen Gardens, Plant Production and The Shed
The school has a shade house, vegetable and herb gardens, composting, a worm farm and an outside powered shed/workshop. Students are able to develop practical skills and knowledge from their involvement in gardening and other home workshop and basic construction activities
Bike Education
We have a bike education and bike maintenance program which gives the students hands on experience with bike maintenance. Students also practise bike-handling skills with a focus on road safety.
Community Service
Students are involved in community service where they link up with Falcon Coast Care to regenerate the local sand dunes.
HHC Integration Specialist Subjects
Our students are able to integrate into classes with their year level peers in the Halls Head College mainstream classes. Specialist subjects include Design and Technology – Materials, Food Technology, Fabrics; The Arts – Drama, Dance, Music, Digital Media, Photography; Information Technology and Health and Physical Education.
All students have the opportunity to participate in various courses offered by the Halls Head College. This gives students the chance to learn from specialist teachers in a mainstream setting and to work in an inclusive environment with their mainstream peers.
Technology and Enterprise
Students design, make and evaluate products and technological processes whilst working with a range of tools and materials using the shed, garden and multi-purpose class room facilities of our purpose built life-skills centre. Students learn practical life skills. Students budget for, prepare and cook simple healthy foods. Our school camp provides opportunities to practice these skills. Students are also given opportunity to participate in mainstream courses in Metals, Wood, Food Technology, Fabrics, Media and IT at Halls Head College.

The Arts
All students have the opportunity to experiment with their creativity during art sessions. Students use various tools, materials and media to achieve Art outcomes. Students are also given opportunity to participate in mainstream Art, Drama, Dance and Music at Halls Head College.

Health and Physical Education
Students access specialist health and fitness activities provided by our specialist staff and guided where required by physiotherapists or other therapists. Protective behaviours, personal health or hygiene programs, community awareness for recreation and healthy lifestyle choices are also important aspects our holistic approach to providing Health and Physical Education programs. Students are also given opportunity to participate in mainstream health and physical education at Halls Head College.
